Francine and her Coat
Strength can be quiet, but it always leaves an impression.
This print depicts a woman sitting confidently in a chair, her coat open, a large hat framing her presence, with plants behind her. I created this piece for International Women’s Day in 2019 as a tribute to the strong women in my life. Those who inspire through their courage, boldness, and unwavering action. Each detail celebrates the grace, resilience, and individuality that makes them remarkable.
I carved this print to honour that inspiration, and to remind myself and others of the power of women who lead by example.
Each print is hand-carved and hand-pressed in my Calgary home studio. Because every piece is printed by hand, subtle variations in ink and pressure make each one uniquely its own.
