Still Waters Run Deep
Still doesn’t mean silent. And it doesn’t mean empty.
This print was inspired by watching a frog resting on the surface of a pond — calm, unmoving, almost suspended. But beneath that still water, there was life unfolding. New life beginning. Old life fading. Everything in between continuing unseen.
I carved this piece as a reflection on what exists below the surface — in ecosystems, in nature, and in ourselves. The water may appear still, but it is anything but lifeless.
Each print is hand-carved and hand-pressed in my Calgary home studio. Because every piece is printed by hand, subtle variations in ink and pressure make each one uniquely its own.
