Hornby Ferns

Some places feel alive from the ground up.

While exploring Hornby Island, the trail disappeared beneath a thick carpet of ferns. They lined the edges so densely you could barely see the earth beneath your feet. It felt like walking through something ancient layered, quiet, and completely alive.

I carved this piece to capture that feeling of being surrounded by growth. The way the forest floor can feel just as powerful as the peaks. Not towering, but enveloping.

Each print is hand-carved and hand-pressed in my Calgary home studio. Because every piece is printed by hand, subtle variations in ink and pressure make each one uniquely its own.
